Autumn in the Woods by wolfie-janice Autumn in the Woods by wolfie-janice
An experiment in digital painting. I'm really happy with how it came out!

I wanted to do an animal.. they're easier to paint, so I did my fursona, since I have like.. no finished pictures of her XD

I browsed Webshots for ideas for the background, the photo I looked at didn't have the bushes, but I think they look good here.

Painted in OpenCanvas 1.1! But I adjusted it and added some texturey stuff in Paint Shop Pro. It's amazing how much better it looks.

The background is very nice, and the colours all go together well. Can't think of anything I would critique at this point. :D

Yes, webshots can give some good inspiration for nature themed backgrounds. Yours came out great! It's simple, but its depth and different textures and colors make up for the simplicity. And since you used brown hues in the character's fur as well, the animal seems like he's actually in the forest, instead of just pasted onto some background.

Very nice! Sorry That I'm getting to your work so late. ^^;

Great job with the background :D And I really love how you used different shades of brown, gives it a nice touch and makes her eyes stand out ^.^

Haha no XD I used photos for inspiration and the starting idea, but the whole thing is drawn by me. :) Trees are much fun to paint.
